CONGRESS MOVES TO SEIZE CONTROL OF ALL U. S. WATERS |
ED Taylor writes: I received an E-mail this morning that should become everyone’s concern. In a nutshell it involves "CONGRESS MOVES TO SEIZE CONTROL OF ALL U. S. WATERS." There is a bill in Washington D. C. that if passed will do just that. I am going to give you just a quote from this piece of legislation. (quote)- "It will eliminate the requirement that the Corps and EPA limit their jurisdiction to "Navigable" waters and give those agencies control over all waters of the US or "activities" affecting those waters. It gives the EPA and Corps and other federal agencies control over activities that affect waters-any land use activities."(end-quote) An example is that the Federal bureaucracies will gain control over all the watersheds in the United States. That includes dry land inside or adjacent to watersheds. That means everything. Because all land is in a watershed. This legislation was written by Gore, Babbitt and environmental groups. I have spoken with Congressman John Mica’s office and he is the highest ranking member of a committee that will consider this bill. He said this is a bad, bad bill and he is going to try and see it defeated. I have ask for a resolution to be drafted voicing our (County Commissioners) dis-approval of this bill and we will consider it this Tuesday. My friends, this is not just a bill that would affect Rodman, it is a bill that will affect all waters in the United States.
